BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 3. Non-oil exports from North Khorasan Province in northeastern Iran have decreased by 29 percent in value and 33 percent in weight in the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through February 18, 2025) compared to the same period last year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024), Hojat Amani, the head of the North Khorasan Province Customs Office, told reporters, Trend reports.
Amani observed that, during this timeframe, the province exported non-oil commodities valued at $54.7 million, amounting to 150,000 tons.
He added that exports included steel products, petrochemicals, tomatoes, cleaning agents, and other goods, primarily shipped to Afghanistan, Iraq, Georgia, Türkiye, and other countries.
The customs official also mentioned that imports to the province amounted to $37.4 million, with 28,000 tons of goods being brought in. The value of imports decreased by 81 percent, and the weight dropped by 44 percent compared to the same period last year.
Amani explained that the main imports consisted of equipment for manufacturing plants, raw materials, rice, and other goods, which were primarily sourced from Pakistan, China, the UAE, Türkiye, and other countries.
According to the Iranian Customs Administration, during the 11 months of the current Iranian year, Iran's non-oil exports amounted to 141 million tons, worth $53.4 billion. Non-oil exports increased by 19 percent in value and 12.6 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.
Iran's non-oil product imports reached a total value of approximately $63.6 billion, amounting to around 35 million tons, in the first eleven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through February 18, 2025). The value of non-oil product imports has increased by 5.6 percent compared to the same period last year, although the weight has decreased by 2.6 percent.
