BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 10. Exports through the customs of Khuzestan Province in southwestern Iran in the past Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025) increased by 51 percent in value and 18 percent in weight compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), Behrouz Garabeygi, head of the province's customs, told reporters, Trend reports.
During the last Iranian year, the customs operations in
Khuzestan enabled the outbound logistics of roughly 23.6 million
metric tons of commodities, with an estimated market valuation of
approximately $8.55 billion.
The export initiatives predominantly focused on strategic markets,
including Iraq, China, the UAE, Türkiye, Oman, Afghanistan, Kuwait,
and Ghana. The portfolio encompassed a diverse array of
commodities, including natural gas, propane, polyethylene, pentane,
steel billets, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), rebar, and an
assortment of ancillary goods.
The findings from the Iranian Customs Administration indicate that
Iran achieved an export volume of 152 million tons of non-oil
commodities, generating a revenue of $57.8 billion in the preceding
Iranian fiscal year. This reflects a year-on-year escalation of
15.6 percent in monetary terms and a 10 percent increase in
physical weight.
