BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. Iran's imports from Tajikistan in the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 19, 2024) rose by 43.6 percent in value and 55.8 percent in weight compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through April 20, 2024).
Data obtained by Trend from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) indicates that the country imported 3,030 tons of goods from Tajikistan worth $4.35 million. This represents an increase compared to the same month in the previous year, when imports stood at about 1,300 tons worth $3.03 million.
The consignment predominantly encompassed textile substrates
such as cotton and silk, an array of apparatus, alongside ancillary
merchandise.
The aggregate trade volume between the Islamic Republic of Iran and
the Republic of Tajikistan during the specified month culminated in
a monetary value of $21.6 million, corresponding to a total of
28,300 metric tons of commodities transacted. In juxtaposition to
the preceding fiscal year, the trade turnover exhibited an
escalation of 32.1 percent in monetary value and a 21.5 percent
augmentation in weight metrics.
According to the metrics provided by the Iranian Customs
Administration, the nation has recorded an influx of 1.8 million
tons of non-oil commodities, with a fiscal valuation of $2.85
billion, during the inaugural month of the ongoing Iranian fiscal
year. In juxtaposition with the corresponding timeframe from the

commodities that are not domestically synthesized while
concurrently enforcing regulatory constraints on the influx of
items that are locally fabricated.
