Iran delivered 14.993 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas to power plants during 90 days of current Iranian fiscal year (FY), which indicate a 2.5-percent decline year-to-year (Y/Y).
Iran’s fiscal year started March 21.
According to a new weekly report of Iran's Energy Ministry, published June 22, the country consumed 296 million liters (-32.2% Y/Y) of gas oil, as well as 623 million liters (-31.8% Y/Y) of fuel oil during the first quarter of current FY.
The country generated 67,620 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity, while the figure for the same period of last FY was 68,817 million kWh.
Coming to power generation capacity, the country added 588 megawatts (MW) to the capacity, while the figure for a period from mid-June 2015 to mid-June 2016 stands at 1,526 MW.
Currently, Iran’s power generation capacity is 74,683 MW. Iran plans to add 3,159 MW to this figure by March 2017.
During three months of current FY, Iran decreased electricity export by 49 percent to 1,125 million kWh and increased its import by 2 percent to 1,234 million kWh.
