BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 27. The exports of non-oil products from Iran's Khuzestan province increased by 130 percent in value terms and 38 percent in weight terms during seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through October 21, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through October 22, 2023), controller of customs in the province Behrouz Gharabeigi told reporters, Trend reports.
He said that for those seven months, Khuzestan province exported 5.53 million tons of non-oil items, with a total value of $1.47 billion, to Iraq.
Gharabeigi added that during this period, totally 13.6 million tons of products worth $4.53 million were exported abroad via the province customs, increasing by 36 percent in value and 13 percent in weight year on year.
Furthermore, the official pointed out that 9.06 million tons of products worth $5.02 billion were imported to Khuzestan province during the seven months, with no change in value and increase of 10 percent in weight compared to seven months of last Iranian year.
To note, in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024 through March 20, 2025), the export of products worth $7 billion from Khuzestan province has been targeted. The province has land and water connections with Iraq.
