BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 26. The exports of products from Iran's Khuzestan Province, located in the country's south-west rose by 42 percent in value and 20 percent in weight during 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through February 18, 2025) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024), controller of customs in the province Behrouz Gharabeigi told reporters, Trend reports.
He said that for those 11 months, the volume of exports through the above province amounted to 21.6 million tons, with a total value of $7.18 billion.
Gharabeigi added that the products were primarily exported through the province's customs to Iraq, China, the UAE, Türkiye, Oman, India, Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Ghana. The exported goods mainly included natural gas, propane, polyethylene, pentane, steel ingots, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), rebar, and others.
The customs official pointed out that during the first 11 months, the province's customs facilitated the import of 15.4 million tons of goods worth $7.95 billion. Compared to the same period last year, the value of imports decreased by ten percent, while the weight increased by two percent.
Khuzestan Province has two land border customs posts and seven commercial ports and is considered the second province in the country in terms of product exports.
