BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 10. Iran's non-oil exports via the customs of the Lorestan Province, located in the country's west, rose by 28 percent in value and 30 percent in weight during the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025), General Director of the Customs Department in Lorestan Hasan Hoseyni told reporters, Trend reports.
He said that in the reporting year, 155,000 tons of goods, ringing in at $140 million, made their way out through the province's customs.
Hoseyni mentioned that last year, 69 types of products were exported to 26 countries through the province's customs. Various types of polyethylene, steel, ferrosilicon, motor oil, kitchen utensils, dates, etc. were exported. The products were mainly exported to Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Slovenia, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Türkiye.
The customs official added that last year, 1,120 tons of products worth $20.7 million were imported through the customs of Lorestan Province. Product imports increased by 22 percent in value and 12 percent in weight compared to the previous year. The province mainly imported equipment and raw materials. The products were imported from Germany, the UAE, China, Switzerland, Afghanistan, Iraq, Canada, and Italy.
To note, the report of the Iranian Customs Administration shows that Iran exported 152 million tons of non-oil products worth $57.8 billion during the last Iranian year, meaning a year-on-year growth of 15.6 percent in value and 10 percent in weight.
