BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3. Exports through the customs of Khuzestan Province in southwestern Iran during the two months of current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025) lifted by 24 percent in value and 11 percent in weight compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024), the supervisor of Khuzestan customs Behrouz Qarabeigi told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, during the two months, 4.61 million tons of non-oil products worth $1.62 billion were exported through the above customs.
Qarabeigi noted that products were mainly exported to Iraq, China, the UAE, Türkiye, Oman, and India through the provincial customs. Natural gas, propane, polyethylene, pentane, steel ingots, fittings, and others were exported through the provincial customs.
The customs official explained that 3.38 million tons of products worth $1.09 billion were imported through the provincial customs in the two months.
He added that during the same period, product imports through the provincial customs decreased by 16 percent in value compared to the same period last year, and increased by 37 percent in weight.
The Iranian Customs Administration data shows that during the two months of the current Iranian year, Iran's non-oil exports amounted to 24.6 million tons, worth $8.24 billion. Iran's non-oil exports decreased by 0.11 percent in value and increased by 4.4 percent in weight compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024).
Meanwhile, in the two months, Iran's non-oil imports amounted to 5.92 million tons, worth $8.47 billion. Non-oil imports decreased by 7.8 percent in value and increased by 1.16 percent in weight compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024).
