Turkey's export of steel to Iran dropped in January 2020, Turkey’s Ministry of Trade told Trend on Feb. 18.
In January 2020, Turkey’s export of steel to Iran amounted to $4.2 million, which is 55.63 percent less compared to the same month of 2019.
In 2019, steel export from Turkey to Iran dropped by 21.09 percent compared to 2018, and amounted to $67.8 million.
Last month, export of steel from Turkey to world markets dropped by 4 percent, amounting to $1.1 billion.
Turkey’s steel export amounted to 7.8 percent of country’s total export in January 2020.
From January 2019 through January 2020, Turkey’s export of steel amounted to $13.7 billion or 7.6 percent of country’s total export for this period.
Turkey’s foreign trade turnover in 2019 exceeded $374.2 billion.
Turkey's export increased by 2.1 percent in 2019 and amounted to $171.5 billion compared to 2018. In the meantime, Turkey's import dropped by 9.1 percent and amounted to $202.7 billion.
