BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 21. The total passenger traffic at the Ankara Esenboga International Airport in Türkiye grew by 40 percent in October 2023 and totaled 10.8 million people, Trend reports.
The data from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye showed that in the reporting month, the airport's passenger traffic on domestic flights increased by 38 percent to 7.6 million people, and on international flights, by 44 percent to 2.36 million people.
The airport's cargo turnover in October this year amounted to 98,743 tons, which is 24 percent more compared to the same month in 2022.
Meanwhile, the airport's cargo turnover on domestic flights increased by 26 percent compared to the same period last year and amounted to 61,907 tons, while on international flights, it increased by 20 percent to 36,836 tons.
The number of flights operated from the airport in October 2023 increased by 31 percent on an annual basis and equaled 78,450.
At the same time, the number of domestic flights increased by 32 percent to 58,798, whereas international flights increased by 30 percent to 19,247.
In October this year, passenger traffic at all airports in Türkiye reached 184.8 million people, while cargo turnover amounted to 3.5 million tons.
Meanwhile, in 2022, this indicator reached 181.9 million people, while cargo turnover amounted to more than four million tons.
