BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 10. The number of passengers arriving at Ankara-based Esenboga International Airport increased by 17 percent to over 2.88 million in March 2024 year on year, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said, Trend reports.
The ministry's figures showed that the airport's passenger turnover on domestic flights climbed by 11 percent in the reporting month, to 2.2 million people, and by 41 percent on international flights, to 682,170 people.
Meanwhile, the airport's cargo turnover climbed by 15 percent year over year, totaling 270,102 tons.
The airport's cargo turnover for domestic flights climbed by six percent year over year to 16,696 tons, while international flights increased by 33 percent year over year to 10,406 tons.
The number of flights operated from the airport increased by seven percent in March 2024 year-on-year and amounted to 22,303. At the same time, the number of flights performed on domestic flights remained unchanged (69,846) and on international flights increased by 36 percent to 5,648.
The passenger traffic for all airports in Türkiye amounted to over 43.8 million people in the reporting month, and cargo turnover exceeded 1.9 million tons.
In addition, passenger traffic at all airports in Türkiye was 214.59 million people, and cargo turnover was 4.2 million tons in 2023.
