Türkiye tallies passenger turnover at Ankara Esenboga Int'l Airport

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 12. The total passenger traffic at the Ankara Esenboga International Airport in Türkiye grew by 8 percent in November 2023 compared to the same period last year and totaled 11.8 million people, the country’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said, Trend reports.

According to the Ministry, the airport's passenger turnover on domestic flights climbed by 6 percent in November 2024 to 8.8 million people and by 15 percent on international flights to 2.9 million people.

The airport's cargo turnover in November this year amounted to 115,264 tons, which is 6 percent more compared to the same month in 2023.

Meanwhile, the airport's cargo turnover on domestic flights increased by 4 percent compared to the same period last year and amounted to 71,085 tons, while on international flights, it increased by 9 percent to 44,179 tons.

The number of flights operated from the airport in November 2024 increased by 4 percent on an annual basis and equaled 88,963.

At the same time, the number of domestic flights increased by 2 percent to 65,695, whereas international flights increased by 10 percent to 23,268.

In November this year, passenger traffic at all airports in Türkiye reached 214.4 million people, while cargo turnover amounted to 4.5 million tons.

Meanwhile, in 2023, this indicator reached 117.9 million people, while cargo turnover amounted to more than 2.4 million tons.
