Some 2, 244, 355 sq. m. of area was cleared from mines and unexploded ammunition in July 2009.
The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Actions (ANAMA) revealed and detonated 10,560 unexploded ammunition and mines in this territory, the ANAMA told Trend on Aug.6.
Some 425 specialists, 115 assistant staff, 5 mechanized mine clearing cars and 30 mine detector dogs took part in it.
So far, 107, 644, 692 sq. m. of area was demined and 468,170 unexploded ammunitions were detonated.
The ANAMA carries out demining in Tartar, Agdam, Fuzuli, Agstafa regions of Azerbaijan and in Garadagh region of Baku.
In this period two cases of mine/unexploded ammunition cases were fixed, leaving three people injured.
