Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev will pay an official visit to Washington late this week, the Kazakh Presidential Press Service told Trend .
"During the visit, the president is expected to participate in an international summit on nuclear security issues, which will be launched April 12," the source reported.
Kazakhstan suffered from nuclear testing at the Semipalatinsk nuclear proving ground during the Soviet Union and took the initiative of nuclear disarmament after independence in the 1990s.
