Roughly 45 pretenders to lawyers successfully passing exams entered Azerbaijani Collegium of Lawyers.
"After adjuration, new lawyers entered collegium. But 23 people successfully passing exams will enter collegium this week," deputy chairman of collegium of lawyers, Farhad Najafov, told Trend on August 3.
Najafov said that new lawyers will work in regions. Lawyers will operate in lawyers' organizations of Absheron, Sumgayit, Masalli, Lerik, Lankaran, Jalilabad, Shirvan, Ganja and Terter regions.
Test exam was held among 471 candidates in May 2009. Roughly 71 candidates getting 60 more points were allowed for competition. Interview held by candidates of qualified commission completed on July 6. As a result, 68 people became lawyers.
Azerbaijan is in the end of the list on number of lawyers among European countries. Before, German expert Tomas German said in interview that 5 lawyers fall on each 100,000 people. Professional lawyers play their role in making just and objective court decisions, expert said. There are 720 lawyers in Azerbaijan.
