FIG: Baku gymnastics arena can host competitions of any level

Competitions of any level can be held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, Stoyan Stoyanov, representative of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), told Trend.

"I think these are very interesting competitions. Fans support not only their athletes, but also foreign ones. In my opinion, everything is organized very well. I am sure that Baku will perfectly cope with holding the European Championship next year," Stoyanov said.

There is an excellent gymnastics arena in Baku where competitions of any level can be held, according to him.

“Your hall is one of the best in the world. It is the first time that the World Cup is being held in such an interesting format,” Stoyanov noted.

It is very good for attracting spectators, who will also have an opportunity to see the best athletes in Baku, he added.

He noted that trampoline gymnastics develops rapidly in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan's successes in trampoline gymnastics will become regular in several years, Stoyanov said, adding that the Azerbaijani government considerably helps to develop sports in the country.

The FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling is being held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku on Feb. 18-19. Eighty-five gymnasts representing 15 countries are taking part in the World Cup.
