ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 19. Kazakhstan, together with Serbia, discussed issues related to deepening bilateral business relations in priority sectors of the economy, Trend reports.
As part of the state visit to the Republic of Serbia, the Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Gabidulla Ospankulov, met with representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, as well as with leaders of Serbian companies such as "Zepter Group," "Mambikom Agrar," "Salviol," "Galenika," and "KRUG International."
"Since 2008, foreign direct investment (FDI) from Serbia has amounted to $17.4 million, and in 2023, the volume of FDI from Serbia to Kazakhstan was $2 million. Despite the small numbers, the partnership between Kazakhstan and Serbia has significant growth potential," noted the Chairman of the Committee.
During the meeting with representatives of Zepter, Gabidulla Ospankulov suggested considering the possibility of opening a small household appliance manufacturing plant in Kazakhstan. The company’s products are made at seven factories located in Switzerland, Italy, and Germany. Zepter already has a representative office in Kazakhstan, as well as in more than 40 countries around the world.
Mambikom Agrar has extensive experience in dried fruit production and operates three processing facilities in Serbia. The parties discussed significant opportunities for developing practices in the harvesting and freezing of agricultural products.
Representatives from the multinational analytics company Salviol indicated a desire to offer Kazakhstani digital goods in Europe. Project implementation in Kazakhstan is of interest to representatives of KRUG and Galenika.
To note, the President of Kazakhstan arrived in Serbia on an official visit. At Belgrade Airport, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, was personally greeted by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić. During the visit, a number of bilateral agreements are expected to be signed. A meeting with the Prime Minister of Serbia, Miloš Vučević, is also scheduled.
