ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 19. Four foreign low-cost carriers may enter the Kazakh aviation market, said Kazakhstan's Deputy Minister of Transport Talgat Lastayev at a government meeting, Trend reports.
"The number of budget routes in Kazakhstan will increase with the arrival of 4 new foreign low-cost carriers: SpiceJet from India, Eastar Jet and T’way Air from South Korea, and Thai AirAsia from Thailand," the deputy minister noted.
He also added that in 2025, the opening of 16 new flight routes
is planned, including to Rome, Munich, Budapest, Shanghai,
Guangzhou, and Busan in South Korea.
To note, in 2024, Kazakhstan's airlines carried 14.7 million
passengers, 11 percent more than in 2023. Airports provided
services to 29.7 million people, 14 percent more compared to last
year. In general, over the last 5 years, the industry indicators
have grown twice.
