ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 15. Kazakhstan has launched a new program, “Village Rescuers,” to boost emergency response capabilities in rural areas, Vice Minister for Emergency Situations Kegen Tursynbayev announced at a government meeting, Trend reports.
As part of the initiative, five modern fire stations have opened in the villages of Krasnaya Polyana (Karaganda region), Kyzylsuat (Akmola region), Zharsuat (West Kazakhstan region), Matybulak (Almaty region), and Glukhovka (Abai region).
“These new stations are outfitted with the necessary equipment, vehicles, and uniforms. We’ve also ensured that facilities are in place to accommodate volunteers,” Tursynbayev stated.
He indicated that a strategic, incremental refurbishment of the
current fire stations is concurrently being developed.
Nationwide, an estimated 400 fire stations function continuously
throughout the calendar year. The Ministry for Emergency Situations
is set to provision 185 units of firefighting apparatus to enhance
operational readiness and response capabilities.
