Turkmenistan, Ashgabad, April 26 /Trend, H.Hasanov/
Jaime Enrike Inosensio Garcia Amaral, Mexico's Ambassador to Turkmenistan, who received accreditation yesterday, will conduct meetings at a number of key ministries of the country over issues of cooperation, Turkmen national television channel Altyn Asyr reported on Tuesday.
At a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Turkmenistan Akja Nurberdiyeva, the diplomat passed over greetings and best wishes from the head of the United State of Mexico Felipe Calderon Inohos to the Government of Turkmenistan.
The Ambassador said Mexican business circles express "the desire to work at the promising Turkmen market".
"Mexico, which is one of the biggest countries in North America, is eager to expand its partnership with Turkmenistan either bilaterally or multilaterally, i.e. within the frames of authoritative international structures", he said.
The most promising designated directions are trade and economy, fuel and energy sector, textile industry, and tourism.
The Plenipotentiary Ambassador plans to conduct meetings at the ministries of oil and gas industry and mineral resources; economy and development; finance; culture and television and radio broadcasting; and the Chamber of Commerce of Turkmenistan.
The Extraordinary Ambassador was received at the Turkmen Foreign Ministry yesterday.
Turkmenistan has intensified cooperation with Latin American countries over recent years. Particularly, Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez, who visited Ashgabad at the end of 2009, was the first Latin American president who visited Turkmenistan.
Local experts believe that the experience of Venezuela, which has the biggest oil reserves in Latin America, could be applied effectively for the implementation of Turkmenistan's fuel and energy plans requiring the attraction of additional investments, the introduction of advanced technologies, and the use of up-to-date equipment.
As is known, Turkmenistan's oil and gas industry development strategy assumes an increase of production of hydrocarbons and export of hydrocarbons to international markets, and an increase of the capacities of the refining industry, including the production of petrochemicals.
On his visit to Ashgabad, Hugo Chavez invited the President of Turkmenistan to pay an official visit to Venezuela. Dates of the visit will be accorded through diplomatic channels.
