Retail trade turnover in January-April this year reached 46,114 trillion soums ($5.457 billion) and increased by 5.6 percent compared to the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
The turnover of large enterprises reached 7,543 trillion soums (a growth rate by 36 percent), small businesses - 38, 570 trillion soums (a growth rate by 2.3 percent).
Of the total turnover of small business, the sale of goods in unorganized trade amounted to 4.5 trillion soums (a decrease of 7.6 percent compared to the same period last year).
Compared to the same period last year, there was an increase in retail growth rates in all regions of the country. Relatively high growth rates were observed in the Khorezm and Syrdarya regions and the city of Tashkent.
In the structure of retail trade turnover, the volume of commodity turnover of large enterprises is 16.4 percent of total sales.
The main share of the turnover of large enterprises was observed in the city of Tashkent (29.3 percent), Khorezm, Tashkent (25.7 percent each) and Bukhara regions (17.7 percent)
The share of small businesses in the retail trade turnover reached 83.6 percent.
The share of small business in comparison with other regions was higher in Kashkadarya (96.9 percent), Jizzakh (90.6 percent), Surkhandarya (90 percent), Fergana (88.2 percent) and Namangan (88.2 percent) regions.
Retail trade turnover per capita in all regions of the country (except for the Kashkadarya region - minus 0.3 percent) increased compared to the same period last year.
This indicator was higher in the city of Tashkent (4.144 million soums), Navoi (1.88 million soums) and Tashkent regions (1.503 million soums) due to the location of large commercial and industrial enterprises there.
The average turnover of retail trade per capita in the country was 1.384 million soums (4.7 percent increase) in 1Q2019 .
