Uzbekistan is planning to introduce the Tax Free system, which will provide for returning the value added tax paid to foreign citizens for purchased goods when crossing the border of Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to Uzbek media.
This initiative is stipulated by the presidential decree "On additional measures to improve tax administration" dated July 10.
On the territory of the European Union, travelers who have non-EU citizenship can receive a refund of VAT for purchases outside duty-free shops at airports.
For this purpose, they need to keep receipts for purchases and obtain VAT refund certificate from the seller or other store employee.
