Iran's Innovation and Prosperity Fund will provide advances for its knowledge-based companies for projects related to reconstruction in Syria, Deputy Head of the Fund Ruhollah Zolfaghari told Trend.
"We do not have good situation in international trade due to sanctions, but the Fund would provide up to $11,904 grant to the knowledge-based companies to exports their products, according to international standards, and if a company needs partnership to attend an international exhibition, or join a trade delegation, the Fund can provide up to $16,666," he said.
"The help is for the costs, so the companies can showcase their products in foreign countries. These advances have lower interest rates than banks," he added.
He then went on to talk about Iran's knowledge-based companies participating in projects for reconstruction in Syria.
"The plan is to send knowledge-based companies there, that export goods to neighboring countries, alongside trade delegations and the Fund would financially support them," he said.
"We would visit Russia based on this plan and then travel to Syria, therefore if a company needs advances the Fund would provide financial help and would pay for the costs," he said.
"The knowledge-based companies in various fields have connections with neighboring companies. Generally they are technological, medical and machinery companies," he noted.
Zolfaghari admitted that Iran's knowledge-based companies from technological, medical and machinery sectors are active in Syria, but refused to name them.
