Kazakhstan has great potential to increase the export of processed goods to Lithuania by more than 50 items in the amount of $205 million, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.
Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Olzhabayev met with the business delegation of the Confederation of Industrialists of the Republic of Lithuania on June 11, 2021.
Olzhabayev said that the growth of export to Lithuania is justified by an increase in the supply of such goods as crude oil, sulfur, copper, a scrap of ferrous metals, etc.
An increase in import from Lithuania is justified by an increase in import of the following goods: remote controllers, panels, tables for electrical equipment, equipment for processing rubber or plastics, equipment for agriculture, horticulture, forestry, etc.
The Kazakh side made a number of proposals on trade and economic cooperation within the Central Asia International Centre for Trade and Economic Cooperation project which is being created, as well as amid a new concept for the development of Khorgos International Center for Border Cooperation.
In turn, representative of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industry in Kazakhstan and Central Asia Andrius Burba said that Lithuania is also interested in the development of mutual trade with Kazakhstan and is ready to supply products of various fields.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to develop cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies, energy, tax issues/disputes, training of maritime personnel, transit cargo transportation and cargo transportation by vehicles, education, and science to further develop trade and economic cooperation between the countries.
