Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 February / Trend / About 2.3bln kilowatt/hour electric energy was generated in Azerbaijan in January 2007 against the forecasted 2.4bln kilowatt/hour in 2006, the Azerenergy press service reported. The reduction of electric energy production was connected to a decrease in consumption due to a set of more efficient electric counters and the utilization of gas in the regions.
Some 2bln kilowatt/hour of electric energy was produced in January 2008 through a thermal power plant and about 0.3bln kilowatt/hour on the hydroelectric power station. About 2.2bln kilowatt/hour of electric energy was produced in the thermal power plant and 0.2bln kilowatt/hour in hydroelectric power station in January 2007.
