Daily gas transport to Georgia will reach 7 million cubic meters after the gas-compressor station is repaired in Azerbaijan's Agdash region.
Five million cubic meters are transported daily under a contract signed by Georgia and Socar.
The maximum transportation pressure is planned to double.
Georgia will sell gas to a Socar subsidiary at a fixed price for the next 5 years.
Georgia receives gas from transiting Russian supplies, Azerbaijani supplies via the South Caucasus pipeline and purchases commercial gas from the Shah Deniz field in Azerbaijan.
The Agdash station has already been upgraded and can be commissioned at any time.
Transported gas volumes may increase to one million cubic meters daily.
The gas pipeline running to Georgia is currently being repaired.
Upgrades to improve the pipeline have been completed.
In November, Azerbaijan and Georgia signed an agreement to increase Socar's activity on the Georgian gas market over the next 5 years. Under the memorandum, Socar will launch a subsidiary to provide the gas volume requested by the Georgian government to consumers.
