The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) completes the process of constructing a new tank farm in the territory of the Neft Dashlari Oil and Gas Production Unity which belongs to SOCAR, a source in SOCAR close to work said on May 1. SOCAR independently develops the offshore Neft Dashlari fields whose reserves have been developed slightly.
"Construction of the park is almost complete, but there is a lack of some materials to complete the process. The construction may finish within a month in the presence of all necessary materials," the source said.
The source has not divulged time to obtain the necessary construction materials and launching a new park. Earlier, it was planned to launch oil tank in late 2008.
Total tank farm will consist of six tanks, one of which will be used for separation of raw materials. The volume of each reservoir is 2,000 tons, diameter - 15 meters, height - 12 meters.
According to SOCAR geologists' estimates, the remained amount of oil at the Neft Dashlari is 30 million tons. SOCAR will drill 78 new wells and construct new platforms to increase oil production at the field by 2010.
