Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov invited his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev to take part in the opening ceremony of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline, press service of the Ak-Ordi reported.
The presidents discussed the issue over the telephone conversation, initiated by Berdimuhammedov.
The opening ceremony of the pipeline will be held in December, 2009 and heads of other countries will also be in attendance, the same source said.
The heads of the countries discussed development of the bilateral cooperation, particularly economic cooperation. The discussions dealt with participation of both parties in realization of important multilateral projects, including construction of a new rail line that will link Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran, the construction of Caspian gas pipeline, which involves Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan and the pipeline route Turkmenistan - Uzbekistan - Kazakhstan - China, the source said.
