A gas processing plant worth 21 billion tenge is being built in Kazakhstan’s Aktobe region, deputy head of the local government of Baigan district Zhandarbek Zhanabay said at a press conference in the regional communications service of Aktobe region.
"Gas Processing Company" LLP is building a plant at the Kozhasay field in the region.
"The new plant will allow increasing the processing of associated gas and developing new types of products,” he said. “The annual capacity will be 300 million cubic meters of dry stripped gas, 37,000 tons of propane-butane technical mixture, 5,400 tons of gas condensate and 10,500 tons of sulfur."
He stressed that the new plant will generally improve the ecology in the region as associated gas will not be burned in torches.
The construction will be completed this year.
Presently, 450 people are involved in the construction, 258 workplaces will be created during the operation.
