The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) hosted a meeting on implementation of the Company President's order on recruitment policy, Trend reports citing an official announcement issued on 11 January 2007.
Participants in the gathering noted the cut or increase in work in some bodies of dynamically developing company SOCAR. Absence of unified handling center actually results in cut in the experienced employees and attraction of new inexperienced specialists out. For instance, the SOCAR employees who transferred to contractor companies BOS Shelf and McDermott, later faced a problem due to cut in work. At the same there is a need for qualified personnel at SOCAR's construction and assembly units following rise in work.
They stressed the necessity for development of a unified program on recruitment of employees earlier employed in onshore fields.
The structural changes at the SOCAR results in the release of definite number of experienced workers and specialists of the company and causes problems with their placement.
Rovnag Abdullayev, the SOCAR President, issued an order on 21 November 2006. In accordance with the document, excluding the internal replacement of employees involved in enterprises and organizations of the SOCAR, called up for military service and re-recruitment of employees working for foreign companies under joint project on the basis of a temporary contracts, the recruitment of new employees has been suspended.
