Azerbaijan, Baku, 17 September / Trend corr. S.Babayeva/Cisco telecommunication company introduced organization changes in its regional organizations. Company said that a range of countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) including Azerbaijan joined the East European subdivision of the company.
Kaan Terzioglu, Vice President of Cisco, heads the East European subdivision, which unites 19 countries of the East Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia.
Cisco office in Azerbaijan, like in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan will continue operating within the 'Central Asia' group, which enters into the Cisco East European department. Ali Kuralgan is the General Manager of the 'Central Asia' group.
The steps are taken, according to Terzioglu, to extend company's local activity, as well as to accelerate introduction of modern technologies.
Taking into consideration the great potential of Azerbaijan in the sphere of data technologies, as well as the development rate of this sector, Cisco plans to turn Azerbaijan into the regional centre in the Central Asia in the communication technology sphere. Cisco's goal is to promote stable development in Azerbaijan through development of data technologies.
Cisco plans to implement its large projects in Azerbaijan systematically. One of the priority directions is the public sector. Cisco will implement different projects with state universities. Company plans to introduce modern technologies in banking, telecommunication, educational and other spheres. Cisco is ready to assist to implement the NGN project in Azerbaijan.
Cisco has great experience in modern technologies and may become Azerbaijan's partner in different projects.
Company plans to increase the number of network academies and expand educational program in order to reinforce the staff potential in th IT sphere.
