The Mobile Operator of Azerbaijan, Azercell Telecom JV, has put into operation GPRS/MMS unilateral roaming service with Spanish Telefonica operator (just Azercell customers can use network of Telefonica). This is the first GPRS/MMS roaming agreement with Spanish operator, Trend reports with reference to the statement of the Company. Up today Azercell Telecom JV has signed the GPRS/MMS roaming agreement with 68 network operators from 34 countries around the world. Joint venture Azercell Telecom was established on January 19, 1996. Founders were Turkcell ГќletiГѕim Hizmetleri A. S. and Ministry of Communications of Azerbaijan Republic. Azercell Telecom started its activities on December 15, 1996 offering subscribers mobile telecommunications services based on postpaid system. In 1998 prepaid system was launched with tariff package вЂ" SimSim that was very successful. As a leader of the market and very dynamic company it is known as the trend setter in mobile telecommunications market in Azerbaijan applying new technologies and offering various tariff packages, products and services that are beyond the customer needs.
