ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 12. Cumulative direct investments from Türkiye in Kazakhstan have exceeded $5.8 billion, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan.
This was highlighted during a meeting between Kazakhstan’s Minister of Industry and Construction, Yersayin Nagaspayev, and the Ambassador of Türkiye to Kazakhstan, Mustafa Kapudju.
Kazakhstan-Türkiye industrial cooperation is based on a strong business infrastructure, with more than 4,000 companies operating in Kazakhstan with Turkish capital participation.
The discussions focused on the current state and prospects of industrial cooperation, growth of mutual trade, and promotion of joint projects.
The parties also reviewed the implementation of agreements reached by the heads of state during the fifth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, held on July 29 in Ankara and co-chaired by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The meeting resulted in a joint declaration, a decision from the fifth council session, and a package of more than 20 documents covering energy, logistics, and transport. These agreements provide a framework for practical development of cooperation in the near future.
In Astana, officials also discussed next steps on industrial and infrastructure projects, including localization of production, cooperation in transport and logistics corridors, and expansion of supply in the manufacturing sector. An agreement was reached to maintain regular working contacts to prepare joint initiatives and advance them at the intergovernmental level.
