Kyrgyzstan ramps up base metal production for 9M2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. Kyrgyzstan increased production of base metals from January through September 2022, Trend reports citing the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

According to statistics, the value of Kyrgyzstan's base metal production in 9 months of this year amounted to 138.2 billion soms ($1.6 billion), which is an increase of 30.2 percent over the same period in 2021 (106.1 billion soms, or $1.2 billion).

During this period, the largest amount of base metals were produced in Kyrgyzstan's Chuy region 64.7 billion soms ($774.2 million), and in the Issyk-Kul region 57.7 billion soms ($691.4 million).

Overall, industrial production in Kyrgyzstan from January through September 2022 amounted to about 299.2 billion soms ($3.5 billion), which is an increase of 26 percent compared to the same period of last year.

As of October 14, the official exchange rate set by the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan is 83,57KGS/1USD.
