Volume of hard coal and brown coal production in Kyrgyzstan disclosed

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 21. Kyrgyzstan produced 681,800 tons of hard coal from January through November 2024, which is 13.3 percent less than in the same period a year earlier (786,700 tons), Trend reports via the National Committee of Statistics of Kyrgyzstan.

The data shows that November's total coal production was 75,000 tons, a decrease of 2.2 percent from November 2023's 76,700 tons.

Based on the committee's data, the country produced 3.14 million tons of lignite during the 11 months, an increase of 11.1 percent compared to the same period last year when 2.827 million tons were produced.

Meanwhile, lignite production in November totaled 505,300 tons, up 23.6 percent from 408,900 tons in November 2023.

To note, the volume of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan in the period from January through November 2024 amounted to more than 513 billion soms ($5.9 billion). The index of physical volume amounted to 104.8 percent compared to January-November 2023.
