BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, May 22. The government of Kyrgyzstan has allocated an additional 4 billion soms ($45.7 million) from the country’s Stabilization Fund in 2025 for the repair of strategically important roads in the Osh region, Trend reports via the Cabinet of Ministers.
The funding targets upgrades to several critical road sections, including Uzgen–Myrza-Ake–Kara-Kuldja, Osh–Batken–Razzakov, Osh–Kara-Suu, and Noakat–Kyzyl-Kiya.
The Uzgen–Myrza-Ake–Kara-Kuldja road repair project spans 34 kilometers and is divided into three phases, with completion expected by the end of 2025. The estimated project cost is 2.2 billion soms ($25.1 million).
Currently, the first phase covers a 4.5-kilometer stretch near the city of Uzgen. This segment is being expanded into a four-lane road featuring sidewalks, green landscaping, and irrigation systems on both sides.
Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure, visited the site to review progress and instructed government officials to prioritize construction quality and ensure the project is completed on schedule.
