ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 29. The Turkmenabat Cotton Spinning Factory, located in the Lebap region of eastern Turkmenistan, exported over 1,450 tons of cotton yarn from January through June 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data, in value terms, over the specified period, the company exported products worth more than 46.1 million Turkmen manat ($12.7 million).
Furthermore, the Turkmenabat Cotton Spinning Factory produced almost 2,900 tons of cotton yarn in the first half of this year, for a total of more than 93.7 million Turkmen manat ($25.7 million).
At the moment, the enterprise employs more than 580 people, which ensures uninterrupted production.
Meanwhile, the cotton sector is one of the crucial industries of Turkmenistan's economy and has a long-standing history in the nation.
Turkmenistan is renowned for its vast cotton fields and premium cotton, making this industry a significant source of revenue and jobs for the populace.
