TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 8. The trade turnover between Germany and Uzbekistan in 2022 reached 1 billion euros, Trend reports.
The figure was revealed at the meeting chaired by Oibek Khamraev, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, dedicated to analyzing current results and planning further tasks of the working group aimed at attracting German companies to the Uzbekistan market and implementing new bilateral investment projects.
Thus, the trade between the two countries in the reporting period increased 2 times, compared to 2017.
At the same time, Uzbek-German investment and industrial cooperation is actively developing. There are currently 200 enterprises with German capital in Uzbekistan, which is 3 times more, compared to 2017. Since 2017, Germany has invested 4 billion euros in Uzbek economy - 11 times more.
Meanwhile, as of June 1, 2023, the number of active enterprises with foreign capital in Uzbekistan reached 12,807. Based on data provided by the Statistics Committee, some 4,919 joint ventures and 7,888 foreign enterprises are among the established businesses in the country.
