During his visit to Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province, the country's Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Farhad Dejpasand noted that the Chabahar Free Zone plays a special strategic role for Iran.
The minister further said the province has various capacities and potential that should be examined and used, Trend reports via IRNA.
"During the 2-day visit we hope to reach an agreement on the policy package with the province's officials, to have the province's problems resolved," Dejpasand said.
The official indicated his plan to visit borders and Sistan and Baluchestan customs checkpoint as well.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Dejpasand talked about the ministry's plans to handle the problem of semi-active and closed production units in the country.
"One of the goals of this trip is to review the problems of the production units firsthand. Some of the problems with the units are related to the banking system, but the problems need to be seen firsthand to know how much of it is related to the banking system, taxes, customs," he said.
