BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 29. The electricity production at Iran's Bistoon Thermal Power Plant has increased by 20 percent during the seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through October 21, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through October 22, 2023), the executive director of Iran's Bistoon Electric Company Masoud Mirza Asghari said, Trend reports.
According to Mirza Asghari, Bistoon Power Plant has produced 2.47 billion kilowatt hours of electricity during seven months.
The Bistoon thermal power plant produced 198 million kilowatt hours of electricity in the seventh month (from September 22 through October 21, 2024), according to Mirza Asghari. However, the repair of one of the units halted the plant's electricity production in the seventh month.
Meanwhile, two units of Bistoon TPP in Kermanshah province, located in the west of Iran, have a capacity of 320 megawatt hours each.
To note, Iran's electricity production potential is 93,455 megawatts. The production potential of Iran's thermal power plants is 76,257 megawatts, the production potential of hydroelectric power plants is 12,144 megawatts, the production potential of retail power plants is 2,485 megawatts, the production potential of renewable power plants is 1,300 megawatts, the production potential of the Bushehr nuclear power plant is 1,020 megawatts, and the production potential of diesel units is 408 megawatts.
