BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 25. A total of 425,000 tons of non-oil products worth $141 million were exported through Kileh customs of the Sardasht district of West Azerbaijan province, located in northwestern Iran, during nine months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through December 2024), the head of Iran's Sardasht customs office Amin Gholamnejad told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, exports of non-oil products via Kileh customs increased in value by 9 percent during nine months compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through December 21, 2023).
The official didn't specify whether exports increased or decreased by weight.
Gholamnejad noted that vegetables, dried fruits, mining minerals, wood, rubber, and metal products were mainly exported through Kileh Customs during the mentioned period.
He added that during nine months, $1.89 million worth of goods were imported via Kileh customs.
Furthermore, Gholamnejad stated that about 140,000 people passed through this customs office during nine months.
To note, the Kileh Customs started to operate in 2003. This customs office functions as one of the border customs offices between Iran and Iraq.
