BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 16. Exports of non-oil products through customs in Hamadan Province, located in western Iran, increased by 12.1 percent in value and 4.5 percent in weight in the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, trough February 18, 2025) compared to the same period of the previous year(from March 21, 2023, trough February 19, 2024).
Data obtained by Trend from the Iranian Customs Administration indicates that during the 11-month period, around $52.4 million worth of 105,000 tons of products were exported through Hamadan province's customs. In the same period last year, $46 million worth of 100,000 tons of products were exported through the province.
The main export destinations for Hamadan Province’s products include Iraq, Pakistan, Türkiye, Afghanistan, and Kuwait.
During the 11th month, Hamadan province imported around $9.64 million worth of 9,640 tons of products. The value and weight of product imports increased by 2.5 percent compared to the same period last year. Last year, imports amounted to $9.41 million worth of 9,410 tons of products.
The main sources of imports to the province include Georgia, China, the UAE, and Türkiye.
To note, Iran's Customs Administration data shows that the country's total exports of non-oil products amounted to 141 million tons worth $53.4 billion during 11 months. Compared to the same period last year, non-oil exports increased by 19 percent in value and 12.6 percent in weight.
The administration data also shows that Iran imported 35 million tons of products worth $63.6 billion during 11 months, meaning an increase of 5.6 percent in value but a decrease of 2.6 percent in weight terms compared to the same period last year.
In general, Iran mainly focuses on the import of essential products needed by the country and applies certain restrictions on the import of goods produced domestically.
