BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19. Insurance premiums collected by Iranian insurance companies from the manufacturing sector reached 512 trillion rials (about $895 million) during the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through April 20, 2025), reflecting a 166 percent rise compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through April 19, 2024).
Data obtained by Trend from Iran’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and
Finance indicates the premiums originating from the manufacturing
sector ascended to 512 trillion rials (approximately $895
million).
Concurrently, insurance providers disbursed 196 trillion rials
(approximately $343 million) in indemnities, reflecting a
substantial 110 percent escalation on an annual basis.
The proportion of life insurance disbursements constituted 12.4
percent, whereas indemnity disbursements represented 17
percent.
The ministry further observed that private enterprises exhibit
heightened engagement within the sector, representing 88.1 percent
of aggregate premiums and 83.3 percent of indemnity
disbursements.
