There are over 8.8 million shareholders in Iran Capital Market, a financial official said.
Mohammad Reza Mohseni, CEO of Central Securities Depository of Iran (CSDI), has said that about 8.863 million share holders invest in Iran Capital Market, Fars news agency reported.
There are also 590 foreign stockholders from about 30 countries, he added.
According to him, the foreign stockholders traded 2 trillion rials (one US dollar makes 30,488 rials according to official rate on June 6) worth of shares over the last Iranian calendar year (ended March 20).
The official added that foreign shareholders mostly became active in Iran following the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
