BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 1. The US Navy aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln was forced to leave its home port after Iran fired four ballistic missiles, the press service of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says, Trend reports.
"Following the attack, the American aircraft carrier left its mission area and headed for the Indian Ocean," the statement said.
For its part, US Central Command stated that although the aircraft carrier was fired upon, it was not hit by Iranian missiles.
