According to Rehn, 2009 will show how much Turkey is serious in its intention to enter the European Union. "I'm informed of the dilemma, which is coming from the Turkish society out of religious and secular views. However, Turkey needs to find the way of compromise," Rehn added. The EU Commissar called on the Turkish Government for further legislative and economic reforms, which are required for entering the EU.
