BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 28. The Turkish Ambarli port received 7.5 million tons of cargo from January through May 2024, the statement of Türkiye's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said, Trend reports.
Furthermore, it was noted that 1.2 million tons of cargo were transported from the port of Ambarli by vessels under the flag of Türkiye, and 6.2 million tons of cargo were transported by vessels under the flags of other countries.
Meanwhile, a total of 4 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the port of Ambarli from January through May 2024.
However, the ports of Türkiye received 34.7 million tons of cargo in May 2024.
The cargo traffic to inland ports by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 2.3 million tons during the mentioned period.
The cargo traffic by vessels flagged by other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 32.4 million tons.
In addition, a total of 5.5 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye in May 2024.
The ports of Türkiye accepted 171.8 million tons of cargo from January through May 2024.
The volume of cargo accepted by Turkish ports from Turkish-flagged vessels was 12.3 million tons, and from vessels flagged by other countries, it was 159.5 million tons.
Moreover, a total of 28.4 million tons of transit cargo were transported from Turkish ports from January through May 2024.
To note, the ports of Türkiye received 5,289 vessels in May of this year.
During this period, the number of vessels accepted in the ports of Türkiye under the flags of other countries amounted to 3,566, and the number of vessels accepted under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 1,723.
The ports of Türkiye received 23,770 vessels from January through May 2024.
Over this period, vessels under the flags of other countries accepted by Turkish ports amounted to 16,272, and vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 7,498.
