Eight Haqqani militants arrested in Afghanistan

Afghanistan, Kabul, Dec. 14 / Trend , A. Hakimi/ Coalition forces announced that they have detained eight suspected militants in Paktika province.

According to them, detainees are including the targeted individual during an operation aimed at further decimating the Haqqani leadership in Paktika.

The force searched a compound in Orgun District, targeting a Haqqani commander known to plan and conduct attacks against local civilians, GIRoA and Coalition forces.

Haqqani is a famous Taliban commander that acts in the south of Afghanistan.

Coalition forces tried to arrest and kill him for several times but failed.

It is told that his wife is killed in a rocket attack in the southern Pakistan.

Most recently, intelligence suggest these militants were planning attacks against civilians who work for and with the government of Afghanistan and Coalition forces in Paktika, Khost and Paktia provinces.

He is known the mastermind of terrorist attack and planning in the above mentioned provinces.

Taliban did not issue any statement in this regard so far.
