ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 29. Turkish companies are keen to participate in the next phase of the "smart" city of Arkadag and the Ashgabat City project, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Ahmet Demirok said in a statement, Trend reports.
"Currently, Turkish companies are implementing 19 projects worth approximately $4.4 billion. We hope to see Turkish companies in the future phases of the construction of the ‘smart’ city of Arkadag and Ashgabat City. We are grateful to the leadership of Turkmenistan for the trust shown to our companies," the ambassador noted.
The ambassador further emphasized that since gaining independence, Turkish companies have successfully completed more than a thousand projects in Turkmenistan, encompassing major infrastructure initiatives such as power plants, transmission lines, highways, shopping centers, universities, hotels, factories, and hospitals.
To note, Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov extended congratulations to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the people of Türkiye on the occasion of Republic Day celebrated on October 29. In his message, Berdimuhamedov emphasized that strengthening multilateral relations with Türkiye is a priority in Turkmenistan's foreign policy, underscoring the rich history of Turkmen-Turkish relations and expressing readiness to enhance bilateral cooperation based on mutual trust.
