BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 15. The total electricity generation from wind power stations in Azerbaijan amounted to 9.5 million kWh from January through March 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the Ministry of Energy indicates that the electricity production from wind power stations has dropped by 4.8 million kWh, or 33.6 percent, compared to the same period last year. In the first quarter of 2024, production from wind power stations had been 14.3 million kWh.
Meanwhile, the total electricity production in Azerbaijan from January through March of this year reached 7.1 billion kWh. This marks a 0.6 percent increase, or 42.5 million kWh, from the previous year's figures.
Of this, the production from TPPs amounted to 6.3 billion kWh, from hydroelectric plants (HEPs) 669.6 million kWh, and other sources contributed 183.9 million kWh, including 9.5 million kWh from wind power plants, 112.5 million kWh from solar power plants, and 61.9 million kWh from the Waste Incineration Plant.
